LONE CREEK

JUDD HICKS is just looking to survive in the lawless world of the old west. But the world has other ideas for him…

Judd Hicks, a Confederate Missouri Bushwhacker, knowing the war is lost begins to make his way back home. Armed with just the pocket watch his late brother gave him, and a bundle of cash he “acquired” from dead Union Army soldiers, he hopes to build a new, peaceful life for himself and his family - his wife, a pious woman called Beth, and his teenage daughter Zoe, who at 19 is already a war widow.

Meanwhile, with the war at its end, the McKinney gang are causing havoc. After the oldest McKinney brother, Charlie, is killed by two Marshals they seek their revenge - killing a family living on the small homestead of Lone Creek for snitching on Charlie. This gang are not just bank robbers - but infamous, violent criminals terrifying the local area.

Unaware of its sinister past, the Hicks family arrive at Lone Creek to start a new life. As they settle in on a stormy night, they’re interrupted by the arrival of two Marshals seeking shelter from the rain and their prisoner: the youngest McKinney brother, Archie. But it won’t be just them for long. As the rest of the McKinney gang arrive at Lone Creek to rescue Archie and enact their revenge they’re drawn to Judd, sensing a darkness within him. Seeking retribution for their own twisted needs, the gang holds Beth and Zoe hostage as they recruit Judd for their next violent raid.

Left with no choice, Judd is forced to follow the McKinneys in order to save his family, with consequences even worse than he could ever have imagined…

LONE CREEK is a dark 19th-century Western, inspired by the classics whilst drawing on the continued popularity of this genre.

ORDER OF GLORY

It’s World War Two on the Eastern Front. The film opens with seasoned German soldiers advancing across Russia. One of these men is the decorated platoon leader Sergeant Rolf Kruger, a skilled but mentally scared German soldier. On the Russian side is the survivor Maria Volkov, a battle-hardened female Russian soldier who herself is mentally scarred from the war and the murder of her family. Both characters cross paths several times in this gritty, action-packed war film.

The bulk of the story is set in 1942. Kruger and his men are fighting in Southern Russia to get the oil fields and Stalingrad that Hitler desired. Maria has flashbacks where the audience will see that her family were murdered at the hands of Zoll, Kruger’s commanding officer. Kruger is ordered to execute Maria but he lets her go when they are alone as he is sympathetic to a female civilian. This is a reflection of his moral compass. Throughout the film the audience will learn more about both Maria and Kruger’s backgrounds, past loves and the motivation to make them the soldiers they have become.

We have two villains to add more dimension to the plot. Zoll is the Junior Officer on the German side who rises in rank. He ensures his soldiers are following the Nazi beliefs for his own personal gain. Our Russian villain, Konev, is a Commissar who insists that his soldiers fight for Stalin and the communist regime. These two characters will represent how evil both sides were during the war. This will also help to show the conscience of the main leads in Maria and Kruger that despite fighting as soldiers for these evil regimes, they are ultimately fighting for their countries and their patriotism.

In addition to the action-packed war scenes, there will be strong emotional scenes where we see the soldiers on both sides suffering the psychological and physical trauma of war. There will be moments where we see both the Germans and the Russians facing emotional breakdowns, physical pain and delirium due to the tragedy of their circumstances.

The final battle scene will be set at Stalingrad in the sewers and tunnels underground between Maria and Kruger. This will give a dark, eerie and haunting feel to the ending of the film. This atmosphere will be chilling and will leave the audience feeling unsettled about the reality of war. The film will aim to show the horrors of war and the suffering caused these two powerful regimes.
